A Mid-Week Vacay at Grand Ridge Solstice

Do you ever have the feeling the the weekend couldn't be here soon enough? Take a break mid-week and join us for an evening run in the woods that takes you away from it all and leave you refreshed and energized!
Our first solstice trail run of the season will be at Grand Ridge Park, right opposite of Tiger Mountain off I-90. The park is 1,200 acres of pristine forest rising above Issaquah and Lake Sammamish. A wide double track trail takes you to the heart of the park, through red alder and douglas-fir. You get a grand sense of remoteness while gazing down on the city of Seattle and the cascades.

For a sneak peak of this beautiful park, see pictures by Glenn Tachiyama from last year.
The Grand Ridge Trail Run on June 5th will be the 7th race of the 2012 season. You can find the current season standings here and course records on the results page. Remember, all runners receive points at every event, and your best 8 races is tallied up for season final points, so every race is another chance to up those points!

The event is sponsored by Extreme Pizza on 660 Front Street North in Issaquah. They will be serving their signature fresh out of the oven pizza at the finish line. Their pizzas are both delicious and healthy (gluten free options also available), and a perfect combo of antioxidants, carbohydrates and proteins to help you refuel! You can find detailed nutritional information on their menu items at the Healthy Dining Finder (link here).
