May 5 Ft. Steilacoom Trail Run

Preliminary Results can be found here. Please contact us for corrections/additions. Photos from the run can be found on our facebook page.
Ft. Steilacoom park is near Tacoma and is one of the most beginner friendly runs in the Pacific Northwest with smooth trails and not a lot of elevation gain. The scenery varies constantly from lake view to open fields and beautiful shady canopy. Because the trails are nice and flowy (see course pictures taken on May 1st), if you like running barefoot, definitely bust out those Five Fingers!
On this note, check out the albums from last year's Steilacoom run so you'll know why we keep raving about this location!
Oct 23rd 2011 Ft. Steilacoom Run Albums: Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V and Part VI.

We'll be raffling a lot of nice swag at this race, including shoes from Hoka One One, Vasque, Vibram Five Fingers, Luna Sandals, gears from Rudy Project, Teko, XX2i, Sawyer and Sierra Summits. In addition, Domino's Pizza on 10112 Bridgeport Way SW in Lakewood, Washington is sponsoring this event and they'll bring a variety of their mouthwatering pizzas to the finish line!

4/14 Squak Trail Run in Issaquah Recap

We had an awesome time at the April 14th Squak Mountain Trail Run in Issaquah. This is the steepest in western Washington and that was some elevation you all did, nicely done! The preliminary results are here, pictures of runners on the trail by Steve Sanders can be found here and finish line by the Vernhes family are on Facebook (part I, part II and part III).
Here are some notable records at this race:
- 10 year old Jaye-Lin Shark ran the Squak Mt. Marathon with her Mom and Dad. To run a marathon at this age is incredible, but one with 7,600 feet of elevation gain is even more impressive!
- All 8 course records were broken, some by as many as 37 minutes (Justin Angle for the 50k).
- Jamie Bilyeu, running his first 50k finished in 9h55, 5 minutes under the cutoff, battling severe ITB issues, nice job!
A big thank you goes to sponsors Cabot Cheese, Cascade Ice, Clif Bar, Flying Pie Pizzeria, GoPicnic, Mamma Chia, nuun, Popchips, Rudy Project, Sierra Summits Skin Products, Vasque, Vibram, Walkers Shortbread, and Wired for providing awesome food, drinks and products for the race!
