06 Sep: Dash Point

Trail Running at Dashpoint Park (Federal Way, WA)

Superb trails, winding through evergreen forest and a start/finish near the beach with shallow water to dip your toes in, what can be better!

Our next event, the Echo Valley 10k, Half-Marathon, 50k and 50 Mile on June 15th, will be in Chelan, and there are still spots available. No wonder it's the top vacation spot for Washingtonians! The trails here are very smooth with no roots or rocks, and the hills are gradual and very runnable, so if you're thinking about doing your first longer distance run, this is the perfect choice!

For accommodations, there's onsite camping at Start/Finish for $10 per tent and you can find new lodging options here. If you plan to spend a weekend, definitely check out the list of things to do on the Chelan Chamber of Commerce site here (click "101 Things to Do" tab). The race's title sponsor, Vin du Lac Winery of Chelan, is offering a number of specials for our racers only and you can find details of the offers on the events page's directions tab.

Company Creek Pizza on 502 Manson way in Chelan, known by locals as the best pizza place in town, will be sponsoring this race with their traditional brick oven baked pizza. So race hard and come to the finish line hungry!

Soaring Eagle Trail Run in Sammamish, WA

The next run up is the May 25thth Soaring Eagle Trail Run brought to you by Born to Run, the Barefoot Runing store. Soaring Eagle Park is the most popular running destination for people living around the plateau and for good reasons; there's not a lot of elevation gain, and the hills are rolling, short and very runnable. At this time of the year the trails are dry and smooth, and we expect most will achieve a fast finish time for their chosen distance. For photos from events from this beautiful park, see our photos page. You can see photos of the trails in May here.
