Stunning views, runnable single track, heaps of sunshine, and a retreat from everyday life!
With 2 days of running, make it a family weekend!
This is a premier Evergreen Trail Run and definitely not one to miss! It's so good you might even want to run it every year! No matter the distance you choose, you'll enjoy endless views towards Lake Chelan and a landscape painted purple and yellow with fields of lupine and balsam root. The winding, nicely graded trails go on endlessly through the ponderosa pine forests.
Make it a weekend in the pristine wine country of Lake Chelan and enjoy a retreat from everyday life while you enjoy the sunshine!
To top off this weekend in the mountains, you can camp pre- and post-race. Take this time to reboot, decompress from technology, and reflect on the training you have done. Come and share an amazing weekend with us; we promise you will head back to work on Monday full of heart and strength of mind! See below for details on accommodations.
There will be a 1-mile kid's race, 10K, Half Marathon, and 50K (Saturday only). Echo Valley has an event for everyone. The 1-mile kid's race, camping, and location make it ideal for families, while the 50K is a great course for a first-time 50K runner or someone wanting to set a 50K PR time.
We always need volunteers!
Volunteer one day, run the other for free!!! Email our volunteer coordinators at amanda@evergreentrailruns.com for details.
This race is sponsored by Vin du Lac of Chelan, one of the top Wineries in the region.
Want to race but can’t afford the entry fee? The Trail Mix Fund can help.
Smooth, winding single track with long, gentle climbs and big views of the Chelan Valley. Every distance is a single loop, so you never repeat a trail.
After the initial long climb the 10k begins its descent back down to the Echo Valley ski area on the Bergman Gulch Trail. 1200' gain.

The Half course is an abbreviated portion of the 50K course, winding through ponderosa pine forest before the final descent down Waterbar Heaven. 2000' gain.

Trails that wind through the beautiful ponderosa pine forest for miles and miles, finishing down Waterbar Heaven and one last small climb up a decommissioned forest road. 3900' gain.

As part of our Woodland Speeders program, we offer free kid’s races at all of our events. Parents are welcome to run with their kiddos. You can register your child during the registration process for your own race, or sign them up later. Distances vary and are approximate, but we aim for about 1K in distance. See the schedule for start time.
The Echo Valley kid's race is the longest that we have at 1 mile in length and is half dirt road, half grassy trail, with a small amount of elevation gain.

Online registration will close the Friday before the race at noon.

Kid's races are free. Taxes and fees are added at checkout.
Sign up one person for any two adult races (i.e. run Saturday and Sunday!) in one transaction, and you will automatically receive a 15% discount on the most expensive race in that transaction.
Participants 22 and under or 65 and over can receive a discount of 15% on their registration fee. Request it with the discount form.
No. Almost all race costs are paid before race day and cannot be recovered, so entries are non-refundable. The one exception is the optional Refund Guarantee, below.
If you can't run, you have three options, each of which must be requested by 6:00pm the day before the race: transfer to another Evergreen Trail Runs event in the same year, defer to the same race next year, or give your bib to another runner. An entry can be deferred or transferred only once. Cancelled or postponed races are not eligible for refunds.
Optional refund protection you can buy through UltraSignUp when you register. It is run entirely by UltraSignUp.com. With it, you can cancel up to 24 hours before the first start of the day (not your own distance's start) and receive an 80% refund from UltraSignUp, using the email they send you after registration.
Yes, until 6:00pm the day before the race. In your UltraSignUp account, choose race credit: you receive a credit worth 95% of your registration fee, good for any Evergreen Trail Runs race with open registration. If the new race costs less, the difference is not refunded. Transfers between Evergreen Trail Runs and Orca Running races are not possible, and an entry can be transferred only once.
Yes, until 6:00pm the day before the race, through your UltraSignUp account. The deferral fee is 5% of the registration fee. Once deferred, it is up to you to re-register for next year's race; if you have not applied the deferral by the time registration closes or the race sells out, it is void. An entry can be deferred only once.
Yes. Before registration closes, change it in your UltraSignUp account; after that, in person at packet pickup. Moving to a longer distance costs the difference in entry fee; moving to a shorter one is free but the difference is not refunded.
Please tell us before you switch. Running a different distance than the one you are registered for scrambles the results and delays the awards.
Yes. Bib transfers to another runner for the same race can be done online until registration closes, and after that in person at packet pickup or on race morning.
You can defer to the following year at no cost, or receive a refund. Contact us with proof of pregnancy before the normal deferral deadline.
Parents can ask for an exception by emailing info@evergreentrailruns.com at least five days before race day with a short note on the child's trail running experience.
Yes: runners 22 and under or 65 and over get 15% off the registration fee. Use the discount form linked on this page.
Overall winners are scored by gun time (clock time): the first three runners of each gender across the finish line, regardless of when they crossed the start. If the race starts in waves and you think you might place, start in the first wave, near the front, and answer the estimated-finish-time question at registration honestly.
No timing system is perfect. Wear your bib visibly on the front of your outermost layer. In some cases we can issue a gun time but not a chip time. Personal GPS data can help us investigate a result but is never the sole basis for an official one. Awards are collected at the race; we do not mail them.
Yes, since 2023. When you register you can choose male, female, non-binary, or prefer not to say. There are overall awards for the top three non-binary runners in every race, collected at the Evergreen tent. Choose prefer not to say if you would rather not be eligible for overall awards.
Our goal is always to provide an enjoyable, safe race experience. However, sometimes unusual conditions (weather and other) may require that, for your health and safety, we cancel a race. We never want to cancel a race and will do so only if the safety risk is great. While we can’t list every possible factor, some possibilities are extreme heat, extreme cold, hazardous air quality, unanticipated road/trail closures, dangerous animals on the course, or other natural or human-caused acts.
Whenever possible, we will postpone a race instead of cancelling it. When a race is postponed and you cannot make it to the new race date, you can defer to the following year’s race for free. Or if you’d prefer, you can transfer your entry to another Evergreen Trail Runs event in that same year for a reduced fee of $5. Cancelled or postponed races are not eligible for refunds.
Once the decision has been made to cancel a race, we will do our best to contact every registered participant as far in advance as possible. However, the very nature of many of these conditions may affect our ability to do so.
Dogs are welcome at the start and finish area, but not on the course.
If the race has not sold out, yes. Cash (exact change), check, or card payment options available.
The full race policies are the final word on all of this.
Where: Echo Valley Ski Area, Chelan, WA
Echo Valley Ski Area generously shares their ample parking area with us for the race, so there is tons of parking directly at the start/finish area.
No Discover Pass is required.
I can’t imagine a better trail system on which to host an event! Smooth and winding with gentle climbs/descents with outstanding views! Did I mention all distances are a single loop? I don’t know about you, but I love not repeating any trails on a long run!
From the base of Echo Valley Ski Area, all distances will start down the main road and then shortly take a left onto the climbing single track. While the grade is gentle, the climb is long and sustained. After the initial long climb, you are rewarded with those amazing views of the Chelan Valley and some gentle rolling single track. The 10K then begins its descent back down to the Echo Valley Ski Area on the Bergman Gulch Trail. Meanwhile, the Half Marathon and 50K runners continue to trails that wind through the beautiful ponderosa pine forest for miles and miles. The Half Marathon course is an abbreviated portion of the 50K course. This course is so much fun that you might not be ready to be done as both the Half Marathon and the 50K make the final descent down Waterbar Heaven – and you’re in luck because there is one last small climb up a decommissioned forest road before finally arriving back at the finish line.
We mark the course as best as possible and there will be a course monitor at a strategic location to help keep you on track. However, there are a few complex intersections, so please pay attention to course markers and signage.
The trails will be open to other users during the event, including pedestrians and cyclists. See our FAQ page for more information about sharing the trails
Please note that distances and elevations noted and on course maps are approximate and are derived from online mapping programs.
Your recorded distance and elevation gain on race day may vary.

There is a generously sized camping area available for runners, friends, and family to make a weekend out of this event. The camping area is owned and managed by the Echo Valley Ski Area. The cost to camp is $25 tent or $50 RV, per night.
Please, no RV's over 24ft and no bump-outs. It is a small parking lot, and we would like to fit as many campers as possible, so there will be a limit of 10 RV spaces available. No individual fires are allowed, but if weather allows, there will be fire pits for general use.
