2026 Ambassadors

Chris

I’m super excited to be an Orca Running & Evergreen Trails Ambassador for 2026! I’ve been volunteering with them for years and always have the most fun at their events! My husband even volunteers with me.

I started running after having gastric bypass surgery to gain control of my health. Little did I know that the running community would become my happy place. I started volunteering after a bad hip injury resulted in 2 hip surgeries and no running for three years. I find volunteering as much fun as running and walking. And I believe movement is movement whether you’re fast or slow! It doesn’t matter whether you’re a runner or a walker. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old. If you’re up and moving, celebrate it and enjoy! My friends call me the best bad influence. I just might convince you to do that hard thing! Believing in yourself and celebrating all your accomplishments whether big or small is my key to living life!

Arielle

Hi everyone! My name is Arielle! I’m so stoked to be back as an Orca Running/Evergreen Trail Run ambassador for the 5th year!

I’ve been running since high school, whether it was cross country back in the day or shredding on Tiger Mountain now! You can find me running on the Burke Gilman or around Lake Union during the week and somewhere in Issaquah on the weekends. I’ve run 5k to 100 miles and I’m always looking for a new adventure or way to challenge myself.

When I’m not running, I’m either crocheting, hanging out with friends, or playing video games!

I’m an OR nurse at UW Medical Center, where I’ve gained quite the reputation as the runner 😉 I live in Ballard with my wonderful husband, who is the best crew captain. I’m also a co-leader for Trail Sisters Seattle, so to the womxn here looking for a new trail buddy, I’m your girl!

I’ll see you out there, whether it’s on the starting line (my camera in hand) or volunteering! If you see me, please come say hi 🙂

Jeremy

Jeremy here. I mostly run trails and ultras, but I’ll run anything that catches my interest. Last year I completed my first 100-mile race and in 2023 I won Ultra SingUp’s “Favorite trail weirdo” award.  More on that later… I started running again later in life and I’m a bigger guy so it doesn’t come easy to me.  What keeps me coming back though are the people I’ve met and the community I’ve become part of.  My least favorite distance is the marathon, which unfortunately probably means I need to run more of them, and my favorite distance is 50 miles.  The best in my opinion are fixed timed races like “One Step Closer”.   Give me 24 hours and a looped course and I’ll have a blast.

Running for 24 hours can be grueling and miserable so in 2022 to make things more fun I created an alter ego named “Chad Ultra” that I run as.  Chad is a runner full of overconfidence and ineptitude to the point of hilarity.  Imagine Micheal Scott from the office combined with David Goggins and that guy you know who claims he could beat your marathon time if he chose to run one.  I’m hard to miss at races as I’m usually wearing a shirt made more for the club and not running.  Always feel free to come say hi.

It’s a bit ridiculous and embarrasses my wife and young daughter, but it has changed my running for the better.  I enjoy making people laugh and encouraging them to let their playful side out during runs.  cIf you are ever ultra curious hit me up. I’ll help you make bad decisions.

Marilou

Hello all! I’m Marilou and I’m so honored and excited to be back for my 7th year as an Orca Ambassador! I’m repping your 55+, middle-of-the pack runners! I may not be fast, but I can run far. I enjoy pacing for half marathons whenever I get the opportunity and have also paced for the Seattle Marathon a couple of times (paced the second half of the race). I mostly run road races but do like the occasional trail race.

My favorite race distances are 10k and half marathons. And my favorite Orca races are the My Better Half 10k (because I get to run with my bestie and the medals are always super cute!), Captain Jack’s Treasure Run (dressing like a pirate is fun!), and the back-to-back Orca Half Marathons (aka the Blowhole Challenge) because apparently, I’m a glutton for punishment! (Kidding/not kidding.) 😛

Eve

Hi friends! My name is Eve and I am so excited to be back for year three as an Orca Running ambassador. I live with my husband and two old-man cats in the Normandy Park area. I enjoy reading fantasy, trekking across European mountains, and building Lego sets that I proudly display in my home office. I started running with my dad back in 2011 and over the years developed my own love of the sport and its community. I’ve been a road runner until last summer when I completed the Evergreen Trails Fidalgo half marathon. That event inspired me to go a little crazy and sign up for my first ultra marathon in the form of Evergreen’s Echo Valley 50k. I’m happy to be training again — and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to support me along the way.

Denis

Hi, I am Denis. I am an ocean lover in and outside of work. Trail runner wannabe, casual mediocre road runner, aspiring beginner triathlete, addict intermediate kiteboarder. I have been enjoying the Seattle area running community for years and being a part of the Orca/Evergreen family is definitely my favorite part of the running. I am returning for year 5 as an ambassador and am just as excited as I was the first time. This community is incredible! I have many goals this year, but the primary one is to recover from a hamstring injury.  Then I want to run many miles with friends or alone, on roads or trails, run a huge race but also our awesome regional ones, and enjoy the community and group runs. When I am not running, I enjoy swimming in the pool or open water, cycling, shredding and slashing some epic chops around PNW waters and spending time with my 16-year-old daughter (whenever she is not busy 🙄).

Hannah

My name is Hannah and I’ve been running for around 13 years now! For me, running started as a stress reliever and quickly turned into a way to gain confidence and meet my fitness goals. My favorite running distance is a half marathon, but I’ve ran six full marathons including the Eugene Marathon in 2023 (where I PR’d)! In 2026, I’m hoping to get a charity spot to run the New York Marathon in the Fall. I’m so excited to be a part of the 2026 Orca Ambassador Team and make more friendships on the roads and trails!

Nichole

I’m a PNW-raised ultrarunner who started running 14 years ago just to keep up with my kid and it quickly escalated into trail miles, ultramarathons, and a love for doing hard things. I run for community, adventure, and the quiet confidence built through long days on the trail. I live in Marysville with my husband and son, and I believe there’s no one right way to be a runner just your way.

Hiral

Hello! My name is Hiral, and I’m thrilled to return as an Orca Running / Evergreen Trail Runs Ambassador. I grew up in India and have proudly called the Greater Seattle area home for the past 15 years. I’m happily married, a mom to two amazing kiddos (ages 8 and 4), a UW graduate, and I work at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

I began my running journey at a young age in India and rediscovered my passion for running here in Seattle. My current goals are to build strength, train beyond the half marathon distance, and continue exploring trail running.

Running has been part of my life on and off for many years, and through it I’ve developed a deep connection to the joy, resilience, and perseverance the sport brings. Running truly sets my soul on fire. It is truly about the community we build and the friendships we form along the way. Like many runners, I believe that speed does not define us; our response to challenges and our commitment to our goals does. Every mile under our feet counts.

My favorite Orca race is the Iron Horse Half, and the half marathon remains my favorite distance. I’m especially passionate about supporting Seattle Children’s Hospital, helping raise funds for uncompensated care.

Whether rain or shine, uphill or downhill, the journey is always better when we run side by side. I’m excited to continue connecting with our running community and celebrating our shared wins together.

Sue

Hi, my name is Sue, this is my third year as an Ambassador for Orca Running! I’m from Michigan and have been living in WA for 16 years with my husband and 2 kids.  I work for an amazing non-profit called Step By Step and I’m also a coach at Vie Athletics. I love the PNW and when people ask if I want to move back to Michigan, I quickly answer no!  Not that I don’t love Michigan, I just love WA more.

I’ve been running for fun since the early 90’s, I ran my first 5K in 1995 and I haven’t stopped running races since!  I’ve run about 10 marathons and so many other races, I wish I had counted them all, maybe one day I’ll count the metals, lol. My favorite distance right now is the ½ marathon.  I love running with friends and trying to convince non running friends to run with me!  A year ago I started a run club, @Sharedsteps_runclub, we run out of Puyallup it’s small but so fun! Join us any Sunday! We motivate each other to get out running even when it’s raining…mostly we meet so we can have pastries and coffee afterwards!

I can’t wait to run some races with everyone! Also I probably could be talked into running a marathon if anyone is going for it this year!

@sukeighron

Cassie

Hi! I’m Cassie. I’m so thrilled to be an ambassador for Orca Running and Evergreen Trails. I was born and raised on Whidbey Island.

I’m new-ish to the running world as I didn’t really start participating in races until 2023. That was partly because I felt intimidated to sign up as I’m a walker and not a runner. But once I got out there and pushed myself outside my comfort zone, I realized that all that matters is showing up and having fun. This community is encouraging no matter what your speed is. It has since escalated to race tee and medal addiction. We won’t talk about races that I had no intention of doing until I saw the bling. That’s honestly a key factor in how I convinced myself I could walk my first half marathon.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the races and community events this next year. I’ll be a walker at the back of the pack or vigorously ringing a cowbell cheering you on.

Emilia

Hello! My name is Emilia and I’m so excited to be back for my 4th year as an Ambassador!

I was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland and moved to the PNW 10 years ago! I instantly fell in love with all this beautiful place has to offer – mountains, lakes and TRAILS! My running journey started around 2019 with lots of road 5 and 10ks and a few half marathons and I then navigated towards trail running. In November 2025 I completed my first marathon and while I was sure it’s a “one and done” kinda thing (spoiler alert: it’s not) – I have pretty ambitious plans for 2026!

I can’t wait to see you all out there and run together!

My life is really on Strava, find me there: Emilia Bajkowska.

Jocelyn

Tansi/Hello Runners!

My name is Jocelyn and I am from the North. I am Métis which is one of the Indigenous Peoples in Canada (our other Indigenous groups arenFirst Nations and Inuit). Super excited to see Liz and I represented here in this space!

I love the Orca Running Races, especially the ones closer to the border! So many great people, snacks and a great community feel! I have been running since 2012 when I entered a race with my son who was 7 years old at the time.

I work full time as an Indigenous Education Helping Teacher in Maple Ridge, BC. I am training for some exciting races this year. I have traveled to many exciting places while running!

I love Lime Cucumber Gatorade which you can’t get in Canada. I love snacks, reading, walking my dogs, beading, painting, and spending time with my sons and husband.

I am a plogger (picking up litter while jogging). I have found some amazing treasures on my adventures around my area and at races!

I have been in 3 rear end car accidents; none of which were my fault. Don’t worry these were at lower speeds and I only had soft tissue damage. I was able to run the Birch Bay 15K last year after the most recent car accident in February last year and get back to training which I am grateful for.  I’m sharing this because chronic pain is challenging, but the best thing you can do is keep moving forward and strengthen your muscles.  Some days I don’t want to move my body, but it helps so much.

If you want to connect you can follow me on Instagram @jocemcintosh.

Erin

Hi y’all! My name is Erin but you might also know me as “Wacky runner” or “Ms. Frizz”. I grew up here in the PNW but love running all over the region and the world! When I’m not in the classroom teaching elementary science, at a track meet for my daughter, visiting my son in college, crafting, reading, hiking, volunteering in the community, or out with my hubby or friends and family, you WILL find me running! This year you’ll find me at road or trail races in distances from 5K to 100K! You probably won’t miss me as I enjoy running in costume when I can. I wrapped up earning my 6th world major in ‘25, and look forward to another year full of running adventures! I’m eager to chat about running with anyone, so please say, “Hi!” at an Orca club event or an Orca or Evergreen race, I love making new running friends!

Lindsey

Hi, I’m Lindsey 👋
I’m probably not what comes to mind when you picture a “runner.” I’m not fast, I choose vibes over PRs, and at the end of the day I want to be out there cheering everyone on as we tackle the hard stuff together. Running, for me, is about showing up, supporting each other, finding joy in the challenges and of course brunch after the long runs.

By day, I work at Seattle Children’s in Clinical Research for the Brain and Solid Tumor programs. Growing up I lived a life of “get in the car we’re going hiking” as my parents rushed me out of bed at 0600 on a Saturday—which I actively rebelled against as an adult and didn’t set foot on a trail for 10+ years. Life has a sense of humor though, because I’ve since come full circle in 2023 waking up at 0600 on Saturdays to get those training runs in as a part of West Seattle Runner’s (WSR) Fall Couch to Half Marathon program.

As a slower runner, I completed most of my training runs on my own and learned how to be my own support crew, often finishing well behind the main pack. Even so, I always felt supported as part of the West Seattle Runner community. That sense of belonging became especially clear on one of our final long runs, when another lone wolf and I showed up for a nine-mile run on a day the group run had been canceled (fun fact: I also forgot my earbuds). At the time, we didn’t realize it, but we had both shown up because we wanted to support runners like us—those who value showing up just as much as finishing together.

We went on to complete our first half marathon side by side on a cold, icy day for the 2023 Seattle Marathon, and that experience truly solidified the power of community. Running may be you versus your goals, but you’re never really alone. Everyone out there wants you to succeed just as much as the person they showed up to cheer for.

Since then, I’ve fallen hard for the inclusive, supportive communities created by Orca, Evergreen Trail Runs, WSR, and the volunteer opportunities their events provide to give back to our broader community.

In 2024, I focused on building a consistent running habit and finding joy in something that challenges me. Running isn’t a sport I’m naturally gifted at (I’m much more of a hand-eye-coordination, catch-a-ball person), but I love the process of working hard for something and finding positivity on the other side. I had the joy of completing several half marathons in 2025 with my running buddies, who I now luckily get to call friends. And in 2026, I’m setting my sights high… literally! I’m excited to focus on trail racing, adding a race with 3300’ of elevation gain to my growing list of “I didn’t think I could do that” moments.

When I’m not on the course you’ll find me on the sidelines with a glittery race sign and an over-the-top snack bar cheering everyone on.

I look forward to getting to explore the Issy Alps, taking recovery walks with the dog and pushing into the uncomfortable alongside a community that cheers each other on every step of the way.

Katie

Hello! My name is Katie and I am so excited to be back for another year as Ambassador for Evergreen/Orca! I have been running for almost 17 years, but I still can’t believe I can call myself a runner. Running has brought so much good into my life. Sometimes my mental health pulls me away from running consistently, but when I find my way back I am always rewarded with a sense of accomplishment that I have only found through running. I am currently back into training for half marathon #19 at the Lake Sammamish Half. I also plan to run and volunteer at as many Orca and Evergreen races as I can.

I am a plus size, back of the pack runner who you will only find running on roads- no trails for me! I am also a mom and wife to people who prefer much more extreme sports. I enjoy paddleboarding, reading, watching movies, listening to music (Taylor Swift and Tom Petty are my favorites!) and just being with good people. Something I am looking forward to in 2026 is attending Orca Run Club and hanging out with some awesome people!

Lisa

Hello running peeps! My name is Lisa Blauvelt and I am super excited to be an Orca/Evergreen Ambassador this year. I’ve been running here in WA since 1997 and so I may have met you somewhere at a race, on the road or back in the day on a trail. I’ve been running Orca races since at least 2012.  I started running with Orca Run Club this summer and can’t wait for it to come back, I love the community aspect of running and run clubs have been an essential part of my running all these years.

I’ve been a distance runner for 30 years and in January I complete my 59th circle around the sun. So yep, I started running at age 29, better late than never!  The day I ran my first mile I didn’t know if I could finish it or if I would ever run again. With encouragement from a friend, I ran that mile, and later that week I signed up for a 6-month marathon training group. In December of 1996, I completed my first marathon. Besides making most of my best friends, running set me free from stress and I fell in love with it for the friendships, fun and challenge.

As a mid to back of the pack marathon runner, my long shot dream was to one day qualify for Boston. It took 10 years of training and racing but in 2007 I ran my first Boston. 10 years later #2, and my final in 2023. I started triathlon in 2007 and did my first Ironman at 51. In 2022 I hung up my full triathlon and marathon shoes for half distances all around. My big running goal now is to stay healthy and be running 10ks when I am 80. I love track workouts and wide groomed trails these days to stay injury free.

I’ve assistant coached high school XC and I have a small run coaching business (Grateful Heart Adventures) where my motto is “Always start with a grateful heart”. If you can put one foot in front of the other, you are a runner. There are so many reasons to run and types of runners, which makes it such an excellent sport! Excited to see what 2026 brings let’s do this!

Liz

I’m Liz, and I’m so excited to be an Orca/Evergreen running ambassador for 2026.
I’m a mom to 4 grown humans, grandma to 3 little ones, and work for Alaska Airlines. I live on the Olympic peninsula.

I started a fitness journey in 2017 to deal with anxiety and depression and in 2018 decided to train for a Spartan Race. Realizing boot camp classes and yoga alone weren’t going to cut it, I added running and at 43, I officially became a runner. I’m pretty introverted by nature, but once I’m running or at a race, I feel completely at home and tend to connect with people easily. I convinced 3 coworkers to train for a half marathon and I ran my first half marathon at the Orca Half in 2019 and came back to PR it in 2024. I also run with Native Women Run, a global nonprofit that brings representation of Native women into the running space, they partner with Orca and Evergreen, which makes my heart happy to be running with an organization that values inclusivity.

I turned 50 on October 10th and ran the Chicago Marathon two days later, it was a great way to celebrate 50!  While the half marathon will always be my favorite, I’ll pretty much say yes to any distance. I’m still warming up to trail running, if I can learn to stay upright I might like it. My favorite Orca race, well of course the Orca half and I love that they added the 8 miler!

Rachel

Hi, my name is Rachel and I’m an accountant by day and mom to a very spunky 8-year-old girl, Remi. All my free time is dedicated to running, I’m currently training for Boston this April and lead several run clubs in the area. I live up in Mill Creek and absolutely love our local PNW races. I’m a Ragnar junkie and this will be my 5th year running an all-girls NWP Ultra Team, and 5th year up at Rainier, going for round 2 of Black Loop with Erin (wackyrunner) Zackey, my ultimate run partner! Rainier has turned me into a trail lover and I’m planning for even more Evergreen trail runs this year. My 2026 run goal is to PR in the half!  My first ever Orca race was the Iron Horse, which holds my current ½ PR, although Lake Sammamish 2025 was so close that I’m attempting it again this year. I’m so excited to be back for my 3rd year ambassadoring for Orca/Evergreen, and I can’t wait for the year ahead!

Corey

Hi everyone, I’m Corey. I’m a passionate runner who finds joy exploring the great outdoors and building connections with the running community. I’m a bit of a run club aficionado running with various groups most days of the week. I prefer to run on trails over roads and love challenging myself with varied terrain amongst the serenity of nature. Many times you’ll see me running in costume and just having a fun time. I’m happy to run with friends at any pace. My favorite distances are half marathon for road and 50k for trail.

Astha

Hi! My name is Astha, and I’m beyond excited to be an Orca & Evergreen Trail Ambassador 🤍

I’m a twin mom who started running about 4 years ago, and I completed my first half marathon in 2024 and honestly, there’s been no looking back since. I’ve run Orca races and also had the chance to volunteer, which has made me love this running community even more.

Rain or shine, you’ll usually find me running through my neighborhood or exploring beautiful places… yes, even while on vacation, because running is my favorite way to discover a new city. When I’m not running, I’m either teaching elementary kids, growing my real estate business, or sharing lifestyle and real-life inspiration here on Instagram.

I’m so excited to share this platform for the first time with all of you who love running, staying active, and finding joy in the journey. Let’s make running fun together! 🏃‍♀️✨

Krystal

Hi everyone! My name is Krystal and I’m beyond excited (and still a little shocked) to be an Orca Running ambassador! 🐋🌲

Running is something I never thought would be part of my life,to be honest I was the cubby girl who walked the mile in school and now I’ve officially completed my first full marathon and the Disney Dopey Challenge! I’ve fallen in love with the journey, the growth, pushing myself and the community that comes with every mile!

When I’m not running, you can usually find me planning my next race, crafting my next running outfit, snuggling my two mini Aussie, or spending time with friends. ✨

This year you’ll see me cheering loud, showing up to runs, and sharing all the real life struggles and messy, beautiful parts of becoming a runner. If you see me out there, please come say hi—I’d love to meet you! 💜💖

Riley

Hi, I’m Riley Anne! I grew up in the Seattle area and went to the University of Oregon, where I threw javelin before discovering a love for running over the past few years. I’m so excited to be part of this community and to share the joy, challenge, and connection that running brings. I spent some time living in Hawaii while working remotely, and now I work at the University of Washington, where I help manage events, including the Bothell Husky 5k. I’m currently training for the Sydney, Australia Marathon next summer, which I’m absolutely HYPED about and have been pouring a lot of my energy into. I also coach part-time at Orangetheory, and when I’m not working or running, I’m usually with my mini Aussie puppy, Junie B. Jones, who is also starting her running journey!

Morgan

Hey everyone! My name is Morgan, and I am very excited to be back as an ambassador this year. I have been running for so long that it feels strange to think of a time when I didn’t run. I used to race mostly on the roads where I ran several marathons and way too many half marathons to even count, but after becoming a mom I decided I liked the trails and made the switch. You can still find me training on the roads and volunteering at Orca races. But the trails have become my fun time. This year I will be training for my first 50K (Echo Valley). When I am not running (rare) you can find me on the ski slopes. I look forward to seeing you on the trails and at the finish lines.

Anna

Hi! My name is Anna and I’m so excited to be part of the Orca/Evergreen ambassador team for the first time this year! Born and raised in San Diego, California, I moved to Washington a few years ago after graduating college and picked up running after one of my CrossFit coaches told me that I was a natural runner. I didn’t know what that meant at the time, but I was inspired to join a run club, which then introduced me to a wonderful community of people. I now run as a means to make friends, to destress, and to continue building toward my fitness goals.

I am also super passionate about making health and fitness accessible to everyone from all backgrounds and locations, so you can usually find me running with Southside Run Club to help build community and promote running opportunities for southside runners! I’m also so excited to help promote Orca Running / Evergreen Trail races, and hope to see you all there!

Amy

Hello, I’m Amy! I am so honored to be back as Orca Ambassador. The Orca and Evergreen Community is responsible for so much of my growth as a runner. My first half marathon was the Lake Sammamish Half and you’ll find me there every year keeping the traditional alive. I’ve proudly accomplished two full marathons and multiple triathlons (swimming is awful, right?). My favorite thing about running is how it often provides moments for us to surprise and challenge ourselves- how many times have I been dreading putting my running shoes on but the second I finish a run, I love that feeling of ‘Oh, yeah that was great. I love this.’ When I’m not running, I’m cuddling my giant golden retriever, dreaming about the Oregon Coast, and photographing weddings and portraits. I’m so excited to support you in your running journey and cheer you on via this AmbassadorShip! Here’s to a new year of start lines! Cheers!

Jennie

Hey y’all!! I’m Jennie (she/her) and I’m stoked to be joining the Pod this year! I’m bad at introductions, so let’s see… I am, first and foremost, a theatre junkie, especially musical theatre. I grew up in upstate NY and moved to the PNW in my early 20s for a fresh start (and to get away from winter). I started attempting to run in 2018 after finding a virtual run club for nerds and have started and stopped a bunch since then. I’ve stayed pretty consistent with walking through that club, and I am a race junkie so I still register for the ones I want to as long as they have walker-friendly time limits. My biggest goal is training consistency. Right now I’m back-of-of-the-pack doing intervals, mostly road running. I love animals and exploring, both urban and wild places, and am 13 states in to completing a half in every state (started in 2021). I have 4 more states on the books for this year, so far. And if course there will be Orca races mixed in too (and maybe even some Evergreen), for home turf – gotta get that R Pod medal! Poulsbo for sure and probably Lake Samm and Snoqualmie. I joined Orca Run Club as soon as I found out about it last winter, since it seemed so much more accessible for my slow self (with the 20 min out & back format) than other clubs I’d looked into in the past and it turned out to be the best decision and led me here! Still trying to figure out what I actually want to do for a career, aside from pet sitting for friends and family. I have 2 mini dachshunds, Frankie & Hoagie. They are 12ish and we rescued them in April after their first hoomom died. We live in the Renton area with my parents. Can’t wait to see you at the races!
